6 years TOGETHER

As of today, June 14, I have been married to my beautiful bride, Renie, for 6 years. She NEVER reads this blog AT ALL so if someone wants to encourage her to read it that would be awesome based on what I am about to write about her and our 6 years together. There is so much I could write but I will do my best to keep it simple and straight forward.

THE BEFORE…

• I first saw her playing flag football on Bowman Field in Clemson during my Sophomore year.
• It took me 2.5 years to actually speak to her.
• She actually asked me out first (it was a sorority function she was Alpha Delta Pi) but didn’t really know me at all. She was after me I guess you would say.
• We started dating in February of 2002…I told her I loved her for the first time in August of 2002…We were engaged on September 21st of 2002…We were then married on June 14 of 2003.
• I worked quick…I figured the faster I moved the less chance she would figure it all out.

THE DURING

Since being married God has blessed us with the opportunity to do so many amazing things together. From the beginning we felt led to wait a while till we had kids so that we could spend time preparing as well as sharing some great experiences with one another.

• Honeymooned in Hawaii
• Served together in Northeast Columbia at a great church within student ministries
• Mission Trip to Nicaragua
• Served together in Anderson, SC at a great church within student ministries
• Vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
• Cruise to the Bahamas.
• Moved to Columbia to be obedient to God in starting Midtown Fellowship from the ground up.
• Mission Trip to New Orleans
• Mission Trip to Mexico (2 times)
• Studied and Vacationed in The Holy Land of Israel.
• Floated in the Dead Sea together.
• Vacation in San Antonio
• Cruise to St. Marteen, Grand Turk, St. Thomas, St. John
• Vacation in Costa Rica
• Many weekend getaways in places like Gatlinburg, Tn, Charleston, Greenville, Helen, Ga, Augusta, Columbia (yep…we will just get a hotel every once in a while to feel like we are out of town)
• Vacation in San Antonio
• Date night once a week (sometimes more) since day 1…do NOT miss a week. Time is important to us.

RENIE is…

loving, hot, serving, cute, beautiful, athletic, sensitive, discerning, gifted, amazing character, more blunt than she used to be, caring, faithful, mesmerizing, committed, stubborn (I actually like it), going to be a great mother, talented, Godly, unique, & much more.

I love you Renie and I cannot wait to add Jack to our family here in 2 weeks. Thank you so much for being committed to Christ, to me, and to His church. I look forward to serving with you the rest of my life. It is an honor to be loved by you and a privilege to get the chance to love you…till death do us part.
