So I have a new favorite worship tune that does an AMAZING job of presenting the Gospel in a clear and compelling way. Below you will find the lyrics and a video of the song TO KNOW YOUR NAME by Hillsong.
ENJOY…
The precious blood of Jesus Christ redeems,
forgiven I’m alive, restored set free.
Your majesty resides inside of me,
forever I believe. forever I believe.
arrested by your truth and righteousness
your grace has overwhelmed my brokenness
convicted by your spirit, led by your word
your love will never fail
your love will never fail
‘Cause I know you gave, the world your only son for us to
know your name, to live within the saviours love and he took my place,
knowing he’d be crucified and you loved.. you loved, a people undeserving
What do you think? Any other great songs out there that you have heard recently?

I like this song. It is clear and catchy. But who knew Jack could lead worship? I guess he did have some free time while he was on the island…

Wimbo, Beck and I went to High Sierra Music Festival this past weekend. A great few days of friends and fun and…..MUSIC. I heard lots of new types of music that are really on the cutting edge…EOTO, Russo/Benevento Due, Critters Buggin, SaMbAdA, Charlie Hunter. But the overall highlight was a Sunday worship with the Lee Boys, a group from Miami that plays Sacred Steel worship music.

*from WikiPedia*
Sacred steel is a musical style and African-American gospel tradition that developed in House of God churches in the 1930’s when brothers Troman and Willie Eason introduced pedal steel guitar to worship services in place of the traditional organ. Sacred steel has since become an integral part of the House of God’s Sunday services.
Since then, sacred steel has grown and flourished within the House of God churches which are located today mainly in New York, Kentucky, and Florida. The most famous practitioner is Robert Randolph of the Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Randolph, the son of a deacon and a minister, took up pedal steel guitar at 17. Just seven years later, he has become one of the most original and talented practitioners of the sacred steel form.

1. sometimes I learn from and pay more attention to the worship we sing than sermons
2. “In Christ Alone” makes me about lose it every time. No matter where I am… even weddings.
