I am going to attempt to keep this short as I am extremely worn out…especially after tonight…I’ll get to that in a bit.
- Cut the grass and did some much needed yard work on Friday morning…the yard is starting to take shape.
- Renie and I hosted a shower for two of our best friends that are getting married in a few weeks. (Chris and Megan…she was actually in my youth group a few years back…makes me feel old)
- Play ladder gold and corn hole.
- Went and saw the movie The Strangers w/ some friends and yes it was pretty dang scary, but I love scary movies.
- Saturday morning I got a Hot Stone Massage at Urban Nirvana. (yes I do get massages and you should too…..awesome stuff.)
- I wrote a paper for school and turned it in after Renie did some editing to my terrible grammar. (no one edits this blog and I know…I know…someone should)
- I grilled out Saturday Night for Renie, my good friend Beau, and a couple of our guy interns.
- Found myself reading a little more of this book as I went to sleep…interesting. Chew up the meat…spit out the bones…as always with reading books other than the bible.
- At our Gatherings at Midtown, I spoke on what it means to be a man of God and how men of God are very rare, but that it the hope that what is rare will become a norm in the family of Midtown.
- 1st Gathering I felt my communication as a teacher was pretty good…the 2nd Gathering I felt like I was all over the place for some reason.
- The Holy Spirit moved like crazy in both Gatherings in the lives of our men, but it was crazy…crazy in the 2nd Gathering.
- It goes to show that as teachers we must prepare with everything we have, but at the end of the day it’s the Holy Spirit that moves in the hearts of people.
- There were dozens of men on there face weeping at the end of the 2nd Gathering. That is NOT normal by the way. Our culture communicates an opposite picture of men. Since we have been meeting weekly the last year and half we have never really done an “alter call” and wow…did God move…I cannot explain to you completely what took place. The Holy Spirit was at work and not only were the lives of individual men changed, but I sincerely believe tonight is one of those nights we will look back on as a church.
- I am pumped for the future of what God is going to do with this Army of Men who are surrender to the message and mission of Jesus. It’s going to be a ride…
- Thanks for letting me be a part of this whole thing guys.
- Later this week we will get back into the Acts 4:13 discussion a little more. 21 comments means that more discussion needs to take place. Incredible thoughts by the way. I learned so much from you guys. If you haven’t read the comments go back and read them here.

That is awesome man… It is great when God shows up and touches lives to the point of tears.
BTW: The Strangers was filmed in Florence, SC.
